STG Presents
103.7 The Mountain
Marty Riemer :20 Funny Festival 2011
The Paramount Theatre
June 17, 2011

This year’s :20 Funny Festival stars:

As host of The Mountain’s nightly 5:20 Funny for the past 14 years, Marty Riemer has shown a knack for discovering and attracting some of the best and brightest standup comics to Seattle for his annual festival.  This year’s lineup, hand-picked by Marty, will prove no exception.

With a style and wit similar to Jerry Seinfeld’s it’s no wonder Papa has toured with Seinfeld for the last eight years, and was personally chosen by him to host NBC’s “The Marriage Ref.”  A familiar face to late night television, Papa has made numerous appearances on the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and “Late Show with David Letterman.”  As an actor, Papa starred opposite Matt Damon in the Soderbergh film, “The Informant.”

Gary Gulman’s humor is unique, clever and highly entertaining. His material focuses on absurd observations on everyday occurrences – the alarm snooze button, grapes vs. grapefruit, and why the walrus rocks a ‘stache.  A strapping 6’6” Gulman was a finalist on both Seasons 2 and 3 of NBC’s Last Comic Standing and should have won both times.  We’re just saying.

Dan’s charming, self-deprecating, sharp-tongued style has since made him a hit with comedy club audiences across the country. If ever there were a Groucho Marx of this century, Naturman would be the closest thing. Another Last Comic Standing alumnus, Naturman has appeared numerous times on the Late Show with David Letterman and Late Nite with Conan O’Brien.

Owen Benjamin’s unique blend of music and comedy makes his act a must see.  Owen actually started his comedy career in music. Growing up with an opera singer father, Owen has played classical piano since childhood. Owen was a regular on MTV’s PUNK’D, E!’s CHELSEA LATELY, Comedy Central’s LIVE AT GOTHAM, Late Show with Jimmy Fallon, as well as over ten appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
